If you choose to work with me for therapy, you can expect collaboration, humor, and a warm, relational framework. I appreciate and incorporate a variety of healing modalities, particularly dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), polyvagal theory, somatic mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) into my practice. Ultimately, I believe (and research shows) that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in treatment outcomes.
I was drawn to the field of counseling because of its promise of transformation- not by changing who we are, but through allowing our true selves to emerge from layers of suffering, shame, and self-criticism. In 2018, I received my M.S.Ed in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University Bloomington, and I am now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I am trained in relational, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed care, and I consistently engage in continuing education around trauma, resilience, and the mind-body connection.
